Mary had a bright and curious mind from an early age. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and later pursued her passion for the arts, completing a course in Computer Graphics at Eastern New Mexico University in 1990.
She was an active member of the Central Oklahoma chapter of American Mensa from 1984 to 1991, where she served as the editor of the chapter newsletter. Mary loved language and learning, and she continued to use her talents throughout her life.
Her career path was as varied as her interests—she worked as a secretary at OETA, served as an assistant film editor at KWTV News 9 and CBS, and later retired from a fulfilling role at Boeing. Even in retirement, she remained intellectually engaged, freelancing as a proofreader and occasionally writing short stories that reflected her wit and insight.
Mary had a deep and abiding love for animals. She donated to numerous animal welfare organizations and supported rescue and care efforts throughout her life.
Mary is survived by her sister, Martha Wycoff and husband Jim; nieces, Tami Fidler and husband Jeff, and Jamies Brooks and husband Phillip; nephew, Mark Scott and wife Lori Tymitz; great-niece, Rory Fidler; great-nephews, Raleigh and Zane Fidler; as well as many close friends.
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, June 23, 2025, at Album Quail Springs Apartments 14201 N Kentucky Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73134. In honor of Mary’s lifelong devotion to animals, donations may be made in her memory to local animal shelters or national animal charities.
