

Maryann Margaret Miller of Edmond, was born August 16, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York, to Benjamin and Anna Ainsworth. She was married to Jon Miller in 1967. The two lived in Forest Hills, Queens, New York; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Terrell, Texas; Kameoka, Japan; and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Maryann died on December 2, 2024.
Maryann had been a secretary, a nurse, and a Montessori teacher. In Japan Maryann taught private English lessons for students of all ages, cooking lessons for the public school in Kameoka and she taught English classes and did translation work for Shinji Shumeikai and the Miho Museum. After returning to the U.S. in 2007, Maryann and Jon lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico where they were active in their church and the Casa San Miquel food pantry. Maryann continued her translation work for Shumei—until June 2024. After Jon passed away on December 2, 2014, Maryann moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in January 2015, where she was surrounded by the love and support of so many. Maryann was a kind, deeply caring, thoughtful mother and wife. She shared her positivity, her joy and her faith with everyone. She was an artist who found beauty in the night sky, her garden, small children, Jon’s guitar playing and every empty canvas. She and Jon were married 46 years and raised six children: John F. Foster (Nora), Robyn A. Souder, Jeanette M. Nance (Bob), David M. Miller (Chanhsamone), Rebecca L. Moore (David) and Deborah M. Hall (Darrell).
Maryann was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Anna Ainsworth; her husband, Jon Miller; her sister-in-law and husband, Linda and Eric Fenton; her grandson Nicholas Fox; and great-granddaughter, Nina Fogarty. Maryann is survived, and loved, by her children and their spouses; her grandchildren: Christopher Foster (Celeste), Stephen Foster (Autumn), Joshua Souder, Sarah Souder, Joy Howard, Julie Nance, Daniel Nance (Cierra), Nathan Miller (Anjela), Stephen Miller, Alyssa Miller, Leslie Greenberg (Joseph), Elisabeth Applbaum (Shai), Eric Humphrey (Danna) Anthony Trotter (Anber), Gabriel Trotter (Katelyn), Katherine Owen (Tomas) and Destini Healy, Brandy and Eddie Hall; her great-grandchildren: Wyndi Cates, Christina, Trinity, Gabriella, Abigail, and Jane Foster, Jason Reid, and Sonya Foster, Dominick, Kendall, Gabriel and Eileen Foster, Haley, Charley and Thomas Howard, Jackson Zielinski, Finn and Sawyer Nance, William Miller, Victoria and Harvey Greenberg, Dean and Serena Applbaum, Paxton and Kizer Humphrey, Aiden Talley, Briggs, Avery and Maxon Trotter, Oliver, Tamzen and Sawyer Trotter, Athena and Persephone Owen; and two great-great-granchildren; her brother, Robert Ainsworth (Bernice); nephews, Brian Ainsworth (Amy) and William Fenton (Hannah); niece, Brenda Lewandowski (Jeff); great-nephew, Zachary; great-niece, Rachel; her dear friend, Rickee Edleman; and innumerable other friends.
