

Retha was born to Arvel and Gladys Walker, and spent most of her childhood in Sapulpa and Edmond. Retha attended Edmond High School, where she graduated in 1951.
Following high school, she worked three years at Security Federal Savings and Loan Association beginning in 1951. It was located in the Colcord Building in downtown Oklahoma City. She was the Assistant Loan Closer and in charge of the Insurance Department. She continued working there until she was married in 1954.
She met her future husband, Bob Bierschank in 1952 at Falls Creek. They were married on June 25, 1954 at the First Baptist Church of Edmond, and shared 58 happy years together.
They spent the first 15 years of their married life farming and raising cattle in Oklahoma City and Warner. They then moved to Crescent, OK, where they both worked at Kerr-McGee Cimarron Fuel Fabrication Site plant. In 1974, they moved to Oklahoma City, OK, where they together they ran Appliance Clinic until their retirement. She was also the first school secretary.
She attended Crossings Community Church. Retha is survived by her husband Bob; two sons and daughters in law, Larry and Donna of New Kensington, PA and David and Shelley of Oklahoma City; four grandsons and granddaughters in law, Jonathan and Lori of Dallas, TX, Ezekiel and Hillary of Lewisville, TX, Daniel and Alison of St. Paul, MN and Dillon of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by three great granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Viewing will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Friday, 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Crossings Community Church Chapel.
