

Roger Dale Smith Jr., born on May 30, 1983, in Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on March 7, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 41. He was the beloved son of Roger Dale Smith Sr. and Ruth Ann (Givens) Smith, and was preceded in death by his father.
Roger served his country with distinction for more than 21 years in the United States Navy. A proud member of the military, he traveled the world and formed lasting bonds with his fellow shipmates. His love for adventure and exploration mirrored his passion for life. While his service to the Navy was a defining part of who he was, it was his role as a loving husband, father, and friend that defined him the most.
He grew up in Oak Harbor, Washington, where his love for motorcycles, gaming, and the Denver Broncos developed. Whether riding through the open road or enjoying a game of Xbox, Roger had a passion for living life to the fullest. His loyal nature and sense of humor earned him lifelong friendships that spanned across the globe.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca, and their son, Liam, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his devoted mother, Ruth Ann Smith, his brother, Sean, his cousin Cynthia Anwel, as well as his parents-in-law, Frida and Clayton Adams. He was also cherished by his close friends, Amanda and Chase Van Blaricome, and many others who loved him dearly.
Roger’s family and friends will remember him for his unwavering love, kindness, and loyalty. He touched the lives of everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life for Roger will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Memorial Park Historic Chapel, 13400 N Kelley Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73131.
