

Scott R. White, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather (Pop), passed away leaving behind a legacy of service, compassion, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He was born in California and raised in San Antonio and Italy. Scott began his life of service in the United States Air Force, serving his country. After his military service, he worked at Western State Hospital, where he met the love of his life, Sheryl A. Adkins. The two were united in marriage on February 26, 1983, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, beginning a partnership that would span more than four decades, built on love, respect, and unwavering commitment. He continued his public service with the Oklahoma Department of Tourism, serving as a Park Ranger until his retirement. During this time, he also worked as a Firearms Instructor, known for his calm leadership, deep knowledge, and dedication to training others. Scott later joined the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, where he worked in Human Resources and served again as a Firearms Instructor.
Above all else, he was a proud “girl dad,” devoted to his daughters, who were the center of his world. His kindness, humor, and unwavering support will continue to guide them always.
He had a lifelong passion for sports, starting with playing baseball as a young man, later an avid basketball and football fan. He loved music, finding peace and happiness in music. Outside of his work and family life, Scott and Sheryl were avid motorcycle riders, touring the United States, especially enjoying annual trips to the Sturgis motorcycle rally. He was a Lifetime Harley Owner Group Member and developed close friendships with other riders. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Gary White, and his mother, Patricia Hughes. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sheryl (Adkins) White, and their two daughters: Sara Cox and her husband, Dave Cox, and Stephany Lively and her husband, Matt Lively, and their daughters, Anniston and Adley. Scott is also survived by his siblings, Linda White, Desi and Michael Dockter, Rick and Suzanne White, Carol and Chuck Ramsey, Bobbi Jo and Michael Matthews, and beloved in-laws, Cindy and Roger Penner, and Lynn Soliday, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Scott was a loving man with a heart of gold. He adored his wife Sheryl and cherished his daughters Sara and Stephany. His two granddaughters Anniston and Adley were the light of his life. Such a sweet, caring soul taken way too soon.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, located at 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, OK 73131, on December 7, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church & School, 308 NW 164th St, Edmond, OK 73013, on December 8, 2025, starting at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
