Celebrating the Life of Edmee Fontaine (Amy)
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Edmee Fontaine, who left us on May 28, 2025, at the age of 80. Amy was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
A Life Well Lived
Amy was born on May 28, 1945, in San Juan, Puerto Rico and peacefully entered eternity on May 28, 2025, in Clermont, Florida.
Throughout her life, she touched countless lives with her love, kindness, guidance, and unwavering sense of compassion and care for others.
In her early days, she was an avid reader who loved to read romance novels and U.S. and World history. She was a strategic Scrabble player and could produce words that would baffle a college graduate. She loved to travel and enjoyed cruises to different countries such as Switzerland, Cuba, Italy, Paris, Venezuela, and Hong Kong mostly with her sister Vicky.
Amy loved and adored her children.
She was an active parent and always put her children first above her own needs. She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare and serve Puerto Rican cuisine for her family. She loved to listen to music by Marc Anthony and Andrea Bocelli.
She loved to work and had successful opportunities in the hotel and restaurant business. She also worked for Texas Instruments in the late 70s assembling LCD watches. She modeled love, faithfulness, commitment, devotion, compassion, grit, and determination.
Her beauty captivated many, and those who knew her were fond of her personality and illuminating presence. Amy loved her parents dearly and helped care for them in their elder years when they were ill. She also cared for her daughter Michelle whose illness led to her premature death.
She loved her grandchildren and was present for every birth. She was selfless, not impressed by things or wealth, and remained the rock of our family.
She was highly patriotic and loved her country and those in uniform and expressed compassion for warriors who were wounded or injured in battle. She admired anyone who served their country in uniform. When she could, she would send a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. She fought the good fight with dignity and possessed an enduring desire to reunite with her parents and her daughter in eternity. She will be missed beyond words. Mother, may you rest in peace.
Legacy
Amy is survived by her three sons, Michael Arizmendi, and his wife Tracy; Joseph Arizmendi and his wife Annette; Christopher Arizmendi and his wife Debra, along with 8 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren who will continue to honor and remember her life.
