March 26, 1941 – May 23, 2025
Gustavo Manuel Angulo Arias, 84, of Orlando, Florida, passed
away peacefully on May 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving
family.
Born in Havana, Cuba, on March 26, 1941, Gustavo lived a life
full of love, purpose, and generosity. He graduated from La Salle
Vedado Catholic High School in Havana and immigrated to the
United States in 1962. Upon arriving, he was accepted into a
special program at the University of Florida that provided Cuban
immigrants with college loans—an opportunity he embraced with
gratitude and determination. He went on to proudly earn his
degree from UF, laying the foundation for a life of hard work,
achievement, and deep appreciation for the country that gave him
a new start.
He met the love of his life, Marisela, as a teenager, and from the
moment he saw her, he knew she was the one. Their love story
spanned over sixty years—not without its ups and downs, but
always grounded in loyalty, endurance, and a deep commitment
to the life they built together.
Gustavo had a remarkable gift with people. He was the one you
turned to in times of trouble—steady, compassionate, and always
ready to help. Whether offering wise counsel or a calming
presence, he had an extraordinary way of making others feel
seen and supported.
He retired as a respected plant manager with the Coca-Cola
Company, where he earned numerous awards for excellence in
leadership and performance. His professionalism, dedication, and
ability to bring out the best in others left a lasting impact on
everyone he worked with. He later launched a successful real
estate brokerage, where his talent for connecting with people and
his keen business sense helped him thrive as an entrepreneur.
He took great pride in building a business that allowed him to
support others in achieving their dreams.
He was passionate about Gator sports—especially football and
basketball—and was a proud supporter of his alma mater. In his
youth, he played baseball and was a talented tennis player. He
also loved to play golf and had a beautiful singing voice that filled
his home with joy.
A devout Catholic, Gustavo was a longtime member of St. Isaac
Jogues Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marisela; his son Gustavo and
daughter-in-law Emilia; daughters Patricia and her fiancé Paul,
and Lisa and her husband Thomas; and five adored
grandchildren: Gabrielle, Jenna, Kevin, Dylan, and Jillian.
Gustavo was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Gustavo L.
Arias; his mother, Olga Arias; and his sister, Dr. Adelaida Arias.
He will be remembered for his warmth, humor, wisdom, and the
love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who
were fortunate to know him.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, at
Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Rd., Orlando, FL
32817.
The viewing will take place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed
by a service at 1:00 PM and burial at 2:00 PM.
