Harvey H Spates

Harvey H Spates, age 90 passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Harvey was born on May 28, 1935 in Loudoun County, Virginia. He Married Mary Frances Cornett on June 17, 1961. Harvey worked as a baggage handler for 29 years for Eastern Airlines. Harvey enjoyed starting his day reading the newspaper. He was always willing to help a neighbor. He raked leaves, installed a sprinkler system, helped build a fence, cleaned roofs. All for being not only a good neighbor but a good person at heart.

He was a loving husband that met Mary Frances on a blind date and married 6 months later.They enjoyed 64 years of marriage, In a true love story fashion they never went to bed angry at each other. Together they made a great team and raised three sons. The sons had their children and their children had children.

Harvey is survived by his loving wife Mary Frances , his oldest son Joseph Spates and wife Sandy, their two children Tiffany and Julia, his second son David Spates and wife Vickie, their children Zachary, Mathew his wife Mary and daughter Megan his third son Michael Spates, and one great grandchild Matthew Jack Spates. He is preceded in death by his brothers Cecil Spates, Ernest Spates, Franklin Spates and his sister Alice Spates.

A visitation for Harvey will be held Monday, June 23, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817. A funeral service will occur Monday, June 23, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2420 Harrell Road, Orlando, FL 32817. A graveside service will occur Monday, June 23, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817.
