Hector lived a life rooted in faith, love, and quiet strength. He loved the Lord deeply, and his faith guided the way he cared for others, supported his family, and lived each day with purpose. After moving from Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Bridgeport, Connecticut, he then met the love of his life, Enriqueta Rivera, and together they built a life centered on love, resilience, and unwavering devotion to their family.
Known as “Daddy”, “Pa”, “Papa” and “Titi,” Hector showed his love through his actions. He worked tirelessly to provide, always putting his family first and taking pride in being their source of strength and support.
He found joy in life’s simplest moments; sitting outside in peace, caring for his lawn, playing dominoes surrounded by laughter, and watching baseball, whether cheering on his grandchildren or his favorite team, the New York Yankees.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Enriqueta Rivera; his children, Daniel Rivera (Stacy Rivera), and Melissa Martinez (Fabian Martinez); and his cherished grandchildren, Alivia Tobias (Adam Tobias), Bianca Alvarez (Cesar Alvarez Alcantara), Madisyn Rivera, and Noah Martinez. He is also survived by his siblings: Ana Luisa Rivera Rodriguez, Rosa Rivera Rodriguez (Pedro Figueroa Barrios), Jose Rivera Rodriguez (Nydia Sanchez Hernandez), and Angel Rivera Rodriguez (Miriam Alvarado Burgos).
Hector’s greatest pride and deepest joy was his family. The love he gave, the strength he carried, and the faith he lived by will remain in their hearts forever. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will continue to be felt in every memory, every tradition, and every moment shared.
Hector will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
