On May 6, 2026, Naomi Cristina Montilla went to be with the Lord at the age of 47. Naomi was born on September 16, 1978, in Caguas, Puerto Rico to Evelyn Rivera and Diomiro Montilla. Naomi is also survived by her younger brother, Ricardo Montilla. At the age of seven, the family moved to Orlando, Florida. She was a student of Orange County Public School and graduated from University High in 1996. Naomi started working at Riverdale Elementary as an after-school program leader and later became a full-time PE paraprofessional while attending both Valencia Community College and later the University of Central Florida. With her strong determination and perseverance, she worked towards her goal of graduating with her degree.
Between the summers of 2010 and 2015, Naomi was an ambassador with People to People and traveled overseas with middle and high school students. Her love of travel, adventure, and friendships continued in all areas of her life, leading her to even create her own art company. Art Spark Studios, with the motto "Where We Spark the Artist In You!" helped Naomi share her love of art with artists of all ages.
In 2016, Naomi graduated from UCF and earned her Bachelor of Arts. A few years later, she became the art teacher for Riverdale Elementary. This was one of Naomi's passions- to bring art to kids in a fun, educational way. From dressing up as famous artists, to showing pictures of famous art around the world from her travels, to quotes and songs to help the students remember curriculum, Naomi brought a true appreciation of art. Naomi was incredibly proud of being the art teacher at Riverdale Elementary and honored to be selected as Teacher of the Year in 2023.
When not at school, Naomi enjoyed going to the beach, participating in Disney experiences, cooking for friends and families, decorating for holidays, and spending times with friends.
Naomi had a gift of loving people. Making friends and cherishing those friendships instilled a love of creating memories. Naomi embraced each moment and exemplified the importance of "making memories," and having fun and always taking an "Omishot!"
Naomi was a bright light, a source of joy, and brought happiness to all who crossed her path. Naomi will be unbelievably missed on this earth, and we are truly the lucky ones to have known “Omi”. We will forever carry her in our hearts. Naomi was a believer and is now adding bright, vibrant colors in Heaven.
