Richard Bates

He was the husband to Sherry Ann King Bates. They shared 35 years of partnership and marriage.

Richard was born on September 28th, 1960 in Key West Florida. He was the son of Eugene Sommers Bates and Eileen Joyce Bates , brother to Bunny Jackson sister.

He attended Key West high school but graduated in Japan.

Richard served with pride in the United States Army achieving rank of E4 specialist.

He enjoyed many sports, but had a love for football baseball and NASCAR.

He will be remembered for his strength, constant perseverance in life his humor and absolute love he had to give this world and most importantly the love for his family.

He has survived by wife, Sherry Ann King Bates , Daughters -Misty Dawn Bates , Hannah Starr Bates , Son -Richard David Bates Jr, Grandchildren -Paul M. Gebhard Jr, Haleigh R. Bates, Dalton D. Bates, Nakirah S. Bravo, Kelly E. Bearman, Great grandchildren Lucas Villanueva.

The funeral graveside service will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery (2420 Harrell Rd, Orlando, FL 32817) in the Garden of Love on March 10th at 12:00PM followed by a celebration of life that will be held at Liberty Baptist Church (744 N. Dean Rd, Orlando, FL 32825) at 1:00PM.
