He was born in Houston, Texas on October 20, 1979. Steven graduated from Scio Central High School and received an Associate of Building Construction from Alfred State College. Steven had a career in construction and worked for Midday Constructors Inc. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, golfing, carpentry and the great outdoors.
Steven is survived by his children Hannah and Allisen Bejte; his parents Patricia Storms; Peter and Elaine Bejte; his brother Peter Bejte; nephew Peter Bejte Jr.; step siblings Linda (Adam) Skolnik; Judi McKenzie; Laura (Eddie) Channel; Sara (Julian) Maxey; Hilary Crosier; Carey Sparbel; David (Adrienne) McCarthy; Daniel McCarthy Jr. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts & uncles. He is preceded in death by his stepfather Daniel McCarthy and stepsister Debbie Perry.
The family will receive friends on May 30, 2026 from 1:30pm to 2pm prior to the Celebration of Life at 2pm at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill, 2420 Harrell Rd., Orlando, FL 32817.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to Friendship American Legion Post, 1168 29 Depot Street Friendship, NY 14739.
