Brian Lane Cupp

Brian Lane Cupp, 46, of Overland Park, KS, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 15, 2016. He was born January 20, 1970 in Merriam, KS to Willard L. Cupp and Kathy (Roach) Grassy. He became involved in sports when he first started playing soccer at the age of 7 and continued on as an avid player through the age of 18. His love of sports included Sporting KC, the Kansas City Chiefs, the Royals, and KU Basketball. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School in 1989. Brian was a very hard worker and from the time he was in his late teens, he developed into a highly skilled carpenter.

He was a loving, caring son, brother, and father to his daughter Hanna and a dear friend to many...especially his 'Brothers for Life': Shawn King, Anthony Freeman,Tim Scott, John Ortiz, Tim Savala, Ricky Wood, Dave Orser and their families. Brian leaves behind a daughter, Hanna Breanne Cupp of the home; mother, Kathy (Roach) Grassy; sister, Beth Cupp both of Overland Park, KS; uncle, Jack Roach of Leawood, KS, and fiancé, Elizabeth Bender of Overland Park, KS.

His visitation will be Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at McGilley & Hoge Memorial Chapel. His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at McGilley & Hoge Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204, burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210.
