Fay Mary Powers Hedrick

Mass of Christian Burial for Fay Mary (Powers) Hedrick, 100, will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1001 Southwest Boulevard, Kansas City, KS, on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 9:30 AM. A visitation and rosary will be at 9:00 AM, prior to Mass in the church. Burial for Fay will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 7601 Blue Ridge, Kansas City, MO.

Fay Hedrick died on Saturday, September 25, 2010, of natural causes at Trinity Nursing & Rehab, Merriam, KS. Fay was born February 17, 1910, in Kansas City, MO, and grew up and lived in the Rosedale area of Kansas City, KS.

Fay was a homemaker, involved in PTO, and a life member of Holy Name Catholic Diocese. She was an animate Royals fan and coached girls basketball after High School. Fay attended High School at Loretta Academy in the late 20’s.

She married Henry Harvey Hedrick, on Halloween, October 31, 1929, who preceded her in death on December 16, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Minnie Powers.

She is survived by a son, John Edward Hedrick, of McLouth, KS; two step-granddaughters of Valley Falls, KS; and three step-great grandchildren.
