Helen Edwards Burke, 95, of Thousand Palms, California, a former resident of the Kansas City for over 70 years, passed away April 30, 2012 of natural causes in Palm Desert California. She worked for the Federal Government as a procurement clerk for approximately 30 years. She retired to Thousand Palms in the late 1980s. She enjoyed her flower gardens and the warm weather of the desert. She was a member of the Tri-Palms Womens Club. She was active all her life until the week before her death. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert California. She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Warren Edwards, three Sisters Catherine, Eleanor, and Dorothy. She is survived by two sons Kenneth Edwards (Nola) of Boise Idaho, Robert Edwards of Thousand Palms California and a Brother Thomas Peretto of Mission Kansas. She leaves many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am, Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W, 75th St., Shawnee, Ks. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am prior to mass at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo. Donations may be made in her name to the American Heart Association
