James M. Curry, 78, of Shawnee, KS passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am on Tuesday, July 26th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street, Shawnee, KS. Inurnment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be 6-8 pm on Monday, July 25th at the McGilley & Hoge Chapel, Overland Park, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Parkinson Foundation Heartland, 8900 State Line Road, Suite 320, Leawood, KS 66206. James was born in Fairbury, NE to Asa and Mary (Rooney) Curry.
He is survived by his sons, James and Patrick, his step-daughters; Tracy, Stacy, Julie, Karen, and Stacey; his sisters, Patty and Sharon; his brothers-in-law, Clyde and Ken; sisters-in-law, Flo, Sally, Judy and Barb; 2 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren, as well as several nephews and nieces. His positive attitude, courage, and strength in times of great personal loss, sickness, and a debilitating disease was an inspiration to many. He will be greatly missed.
