John "Jack" Caton Marsh, 94, of Overland Park, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 26, 1931, Jack was a man whose life was defined by his unwavering devotion to his family, his community. Jack was most at home watching his favorite teams like the Packers, Chiefs, and Royals.
Jack moved several times as a child. He lived in Brooklyn, Chicago, Morris Town, NY and Green Bay. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Green Bay Wisconsin, and later earned his degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin. Out of college Jack joined the Marines, becoming a 2nd Lieutenant in the artillery at Camp Lejeune North Carolina. Jack was promoted to 1st Lieutenant before he separated from active duty in December of 1955, and returned to the University of Wisconsin and completed his MBA. He built a distinguished career at Troug Nichols and A.B.May, where he worked for over 48- years as a Sales Engineer. He was known for his dedication and personality.
He met his beloved wife, Kathleen Clark, in Green Bay, WI and they were married in 1953. Together they had a beautiful, bustling family. They raised eight children: Lynne, Susie, Kathy, Tom, Molly, Pat, Andy and Johnny, who in turn blessed him with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jack was a pillar of strength, known for his joking wit, laugh, and his endless supply of dad jokes. He taught his children the value of hard work, integrity, and finding joy in simple pleasures, such as music and sports and watching birds.
He is survived by his eight children and their spouses; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen and brother Charlie, as well as his parents, John J. and Marjorie.
A private Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Holy Trinity Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
