Johna Beach

Johna Beach was born on August 31st, 1934, to John F. and Ruth M. (Johnson) in Kansas City, Kansas. She lived most of her life in Overland Park, Kansas. She passed away May 30th, 2022, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Lawrence, Kansas. She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, David O. Terry; sisters, Amy Russell and Shirley Brown.

She is survived by Debbie and Joe Stober of Eudora, Kansas and Vicki and Ed McCarty of West Plains, Missouri. She is also survived by grandchildren, Chris (Vanessa) Stober of Reeds Spring, Missouri, Bryan (Natalie) Stober of Baldwin City, Kansas, Brandon (Tamami) Inman of Overland Park, Kansas, Teri (Marcus) Swindell of Kansas City, Missouri and Andrew (Lauren) Inman of Prairie Village, Kansas; great grandchildren, Johna Stober, Ken Sato, Mary Ann Sato, Gunnar Coussens, Elinor Coussens, Mollie Coussens, Knox Swindell, Ophelia Swindell, Asher Inman and Jace Inman; nieces, Lori Schriener and Connie Willert; and cousins, Pat Parr, Carol Bozick, Kay Carter, Richard Johnson and Jeanette Daniel.

She married Harold Beach on August 5, 1951. They later divorced.

She worked for Multiple Listing of Johnson County and later was secretary of Overland Trenching.

When her first grandchild was born, she said she was too young to be a Grandmother, so the grandkids called her Mom. The great grandkids coined the phrase Great Mom or GMom.

Mom loved playing Yahtzee. She also loved taking bus trips to casinos where she set a limit of 25.00 to gamble with.

She was absolutely loved by all of us. When any of us were in need, she was there to help. Our hearts feel empty now that she is gone.

A visitation for Johna will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McGilley & Hoge Johnson County Memorial Chapel, 8024 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Kansas. The family is asking family and friends to wear masks while we are in each other's company at the funeral home.
