Robert Farrell Breheny, Jr., 59, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2011. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd St., Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, MO 64105 or Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Rd., Kansas City, MO 64145. Robert was born October 9, 1951, in Utica, NY, the son of Robert F. and Virginia (Orlowski) Breheny. Robert was a graduate of Rockhurst University and for many years, he served as an insurance underwriter. Robert was an avid sports fan. He thoroughly enjoyed following his favorite teams the New York Yankees and Syracuse University. In recent years, he took great pleasure in spending his summer months at the family retreat in Boonville, New York. His father Robert F. Breheny, Sr. and brother in-law Richard DeHauski precede him in death. Survivors include his mother, Virginia (Orlowski) Breheny of Overland Park, KS; sister, Jill DeHauski of Overland Park, KS; niece Bridget Ryan Werner, husband William, and their children Sean, Brendan, Caitlin, and Ryan of Kansas City, MO.
