Robert J. Schmitt

Robert J. Schmitt, 81, Overland Park, KS, died December 19, 2011 at the residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Friday, December 23, at Church of the Holy Cross, 8311 W. 93rd St., Overland Park. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Thursday, December 22 at the church with the Rosary to be prayed at 4:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Holy Cross.

Bob was a graduate of Quincy (IL) College in 1952. He served in the US Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War. In October 1954, he married Rosemary Meyers. He worked for Amoco Oil Co. for 32 years. Bob enjoyed serving the community at St. Mary’s Food Kitchen for many years. He and Rosie enjoyed 57 years of marriage, and are the parents of 4 children, and 3 grandchildren, whom they adored.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, and his four children and their families: son, Mark, and his wife Darlene; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Domenic and their daughter, Katie; daughter, Mary and her husband, John and their children, Abigail and Matthew; and daughter, Patty and her husband, Brian. Bob is also survived by his sisters: Margaret Sickley, Mickey Schmitt, and Ann Wozniak. Please offer condolences at www.mcgilleyhoge.com.
