IN THE CARE OF

Baldwin-Fairchild Oviedo Funeral Home

Carolyn Eisenhart Figlioli, age 87 passed away October 20, 2021. Carolyn was born in Pen Argyl, PA. She was the eldest daughter of Edwin K. and Caroline Eisenhart. She grew up in Bangor, PA where her father was the town pharmacist. Carolyn fondly recalled memories of her father compounding medicines with mortar and pestle and the soda fountain in the family drug store. Carolyn had many lifelong friends from Bangor including her girlfriends AKA “The 2nd Street Gang” who enjoyed playing neighborhood softball prior to the organization of girl’s teams. Carolyn graduated from Bangor High School in 1952. She studied nursing at the NJ College for Women (now Douglass College of Rutgers University) before transferring to Bucknell University. She enjoyed participating in college marching band and graduated in 1957 from Bucknell with a BS in Biology. After graduation she worked as a Research Biologist at Laros Company in Bethlehem, PA.

Carolyn married Robert A. Figlioli in 1958 and moved with him to Florida where Robert worked at Kennedy Space Center. They made their home in beautiful Cocoa Beach where they enjoyed raising their four children. Carolyn was a member of Cocoa Beach Community Church, Cocoa Beach Junior Women’s Club, Eastern Star. She was a Gray Lady at Freedom 7 Elementary School and a leader for both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts. Carolyn supported and encouraged her children’s activities including booster programs, chaperoning fieldtrips, and attending sporting events until finally becoming a diehard college football fan thanks to Auburn University. Carolyn enjoyed travelling for both family and fun to destinations all over the world including Hawaii, Alaska, Egypt, Thailand, China, and Europe. Despite her busy nature Carolyn was abreast of community news and in constant contact with her longtime area friends.

A wonderful grandma who never forgot a birthday, a loving mother not afraid to tell you her opinion, and a faithful friend to many. Carolyn will be missed dearly by those who love her.

Survivors: children - Karen Zamonis, Robert (Yourly) Figlioli, Linda (Liam) Farragher, Scott (Jessie) Figlioli, 15 dear grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sister - Dorothy (Donald) Secor.

In recognition of the times, a small gathering of friends and family will be organized locally by the family. A graveside ceremony will be held in December in Bangor, PA.
