Dan was born on June 5th, 1944, in Madison, SD. Dan’s parents, Thomas and Esther (Randolph), raised Dan, his brothers Jim and Chuck, and sisters Floy and Betty, where they all grew up and went to school in Madison, SD. While in high school, Dan found the “love of his life” in Carol Susan Pulford. The couple united in marriage on June 5, 1964 in Madison, SD. In 1966, the couple made their home in Sioux Falls, SD along with their new baby boy, Scott. Dan worked in a feed mill in Sioux Falls, spending over 40 years at Golden Sun Feeds as both a driver and a feed mill operator. Dan also volunteered as a Sioux Falls Reserve Police officer helping keep his community safe and secure.
Dan was blessed with a warm smile, a kind heart, a fantastically dry sense of humor and he never met a cup of coffee that he didn’t like. He was a collector through and through with a robust collection of cap guns, BB guns, pocket knives and antique knick knacks of all varieties. Quotes like “How cool is that?” and “Absolutely” will always echo in the lives he connected with.
No memorial service has been scheduled at this time. Given Dan’s love for animals, especially kitty cats, donations can be made to the Sioux Falls Humane Society. In the Notes or Memo section write in Dan Pulford Memorial.
Grateful for having shared 57 years with his wife, Carol Pulford of Sioux Falls, SD; one son, Retired Colonel Scott Pulford and his wife, Donna; and two grandsons, Tyler and his wife Kylie, and Travis.
Dan is preceded in death by his wife Carol, his parents, Thomas and Esther, and his brothers and sisters. He leaves a legacy of “do your best in all that you do.” Love you Pop…
