On March 17, 1979 and September 28, 1983 respectively, she welcomed her two beautiful babies April and Aaron, who were the most important part of her life.
Her incredible nursing career and journey would start in 1982 where she graduated from Northwest Technical College with a practical nursing diploma becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Next, she would earn her Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from Northwest State Community College in 1993 becoming a Registered Nurse (RN). She would then graduate from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) in 1999. Her work spanned from Med Surge, Peds, Hospice, Receiving, ER and eventually become a travel nurse in RI, CA, MA, NY, FL, and MI primarily in the most difficult Emergency Rooms across the country. She would later accept an amazing challenge and return to school to easily achieve a Masters degree in nursing with honors on February 09, 2020 from Walden University. This awarded her the designation of Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner-Family Practice (ARNP) specializing in cardiology, pediatrics, oncology and more. She was a highly proficient, consummate professional, extremely brilliant and a truly loved nurse for over 41 years.
Before becoming an ARNP Denise would also go on to serve her country from 1993-2001. First in the US Army Nurse Corps (ANC) then later in the US Air Force Nurse Corps (AFNC) as combat nurse. She would achieve the rank of Captain after serving eight honorable years and received an honorable discharge. She was a problem-solver who consistently took on difficult and unwanted projects at work and was constantly improving the environment as well as the lives around her.
