Eric Joseph Solomita geronimo’d into the afterlife on May 4, 2024. He came into this world a month late, on September 30th, 1972, and left decades too early. He leaves behind a vast collection of Starbucks mugs, Mascot dolls, Dolphins memorabilia, packs of Twizzlers, business cards to every restaurant he’s ever been to, and a giant-sized imprint on the hearts of everyone who got the privilege to love him.
Eric was a Sears employee for 20 years and was so proud to earn his 20 year pin.
He loved all Miami sports teams, but loved his Miami Dolphins most of all. Eric loved dancing with brides at their weddings, attending concerts, being on vacation with his family, riding his bike and watching a mixture of sport shows, crime procedurals and General Hospital. He was never too far away from his cell phone, which he used to update all friends and family on celebrity deaths and sports news related to the teams he assigned to them.
Eric was a loving Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Nephew and Friend.
Since Eric was a self-proclaimed cheapskate (unless it was Starbucks), we think it’d be fitting that in lieu of flowers, you treat yourself to a Starbucks and a Rice Krispie Treat — or Krispie bar as he called them. If you feel absolutely compelled to spend your money, we’d love for you to donate to Woofgang & Co. An organization that helps adults with disabilities lead life to the fullest as we all know Eric did.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on May 24, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida. Please leave us your favorite memory of Eric here. We love knowing how much he touched everyone’s lives around him.
In the immortal words of Eric, “Merry New Year!”
