

Kenneth Wilbur West, born November 18, 1938, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, in Altamonte Springs, Florida, at the age of 85. He was born in Springfield, Illinois, to Wilbur and Eloise (Marcy) West, and spent the latter half of his life in Central Florida.
Ken is survived by his stepmother, Dagmar West of Springfield, Illinois; his wife, Anita B. (Carter) West of Oviedo, Florida; and his children: Michael K. (Karen) West of Groveland, Florida; Mark A. (Michelle) West of Kalamazoo, Michigan: Kim A. (Curt) Tenney of Oviedo, Florida; and Matthew S. (Mindy) West of Lake Mary, Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Additionally, he is survived by his sister, Barbara R. (Gary) Berg of East Peoria, Illinois; stepbrother, Michael R. Quinn of Springfield, Illinois; and stepsister, Patricia D. Quinn of Chicago.
Ken served his country in the Illinois Air National Guard. Ken was also a devoted family man and an avid car enthusiast. He spent countless hours watching, racing, and restoring cars, a passion that brought him great joy. Ken spent his professional career in commercial construction management and was especially proud for managing the development of Springfield’s White Oaks Mall.
A memorial service is planned for a later date.
