Loretta J. Yost "Lori"

On December 31, 2023, Loretta J. (McPhail) Yost passed away peacefully in her sleep while surrounded by her loving family. She was 73 years old. Loretta, also known to her friends as “Lori”, was born in Wichita, Kansas and resided in Winter Springs, Florida. Lori was a proud wife and mother of two children. Lori’s greatest love was her family, including her many fur babies. Her children were proud to call her mom, including her son-in-law, who always referred to her as “mom” and whom we lovingly joked was her favorite child. She always found ways to bring a laugh and a smile to everyone she met with her funny and unique humor.

Along with raising her family, Lori always made time for everyone. She was a devoted mom and she always provided comfort, encouragement and love for her family. She and her husband, James “Jim” worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. She would proudly boast about both of her children graduating from college, their professional careers and their achievements.

Lori was a talented ceramic artist, creating many artistic pieces, earning various awards and sharing them with her family, local schools and community.

Lori was predeceased by her husband, James R. Yost. She is survived by her children, Steven Yost in Austin, Texas, Teri Yost-Alegre & husband Kenneth Alegre in Oviedo, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved dog Zoe “Zozo” in Oviedo, Florida. The family invites you to join them for the service in celebration of Lori’s life. The visitation will be on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 10 am -11 am at Baldwin-Fairchild Oviedo Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to follow at 11 am. A graveside service will occur on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2 pm. at All Faiths Memorial Park.
