Woodrow "Butch" Edward Sullivan

Woodrow Edward Sullivan passed away on October 10, 2015, he was a Retired Navy Petty officer 1st Class, whom served the Majority of his time with the Marines as a Corpsman. He served 3 tours in Vietnam, served with 2nd Recon Battalion, the Navy Seabees, 2nd Medical Battalion and many many other units during his 20 year tour. One of his favorite tours of duty was his last one in Hawaii where he and his wife Irene would scuba dive and fish on their boat with their 2 daughters Rina and Julia. Woody was a hardworking man who loved the outdoors, he would be on the front deck of his Ranger bass boat fishing all the lakes in Central Florida every weekend for many years. Woody loved to take his Grandkids on the boat with him and teach them to fish, his Grandkids are Christopher Turnbell, Catherine Williams, Jacob Perry and Kyle Young. As the years went by he would take each of them out and teach them more than just about fishing, he would teach them patience, love and respect. Woody was a man who seemed to be serious all the time but he was always on the verge of cracking a joke if the time permitted. Woody loved to shoot shotguns, rifles and pistols. He was highly dedicated with any discipline he chose, as of recently he would go to the Trap field and have those "guys on their heels" as he'd say. Woody was a man of many talents and skills, he always loved to be in a competition shooting against Marines or other friends and family. His only request was to be spread in the woods where he loved to be and he will be placed in the woods on a Marine base so he can forever be with his Marines keeping them safe like he did for over 20 years.
