

Andrew is survived by his loving spouse Therese Nua, brother in law, nieces, nephews, godson and four legged furry felines, Annie, and Bella. He is preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Olepau Nua, and father John Nua, three brothers and one sister.
Andrew was born on April 09,1928 in Honolulu, Hawaii. At the age of thirteen, Andrew witnessed the attack on Pearl Harbor with his classmates from the roof of St Patrick’s grammar school on the morning of December 07, 1941. Andrew attended King Kamehameha high school where he excelled in football and successfully graduated in 1947. After high school, he attended the University of Hawaii and was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. In 1950 Andrew enlisted in the United States Army where he met his beloved wife Therese who was also stationed at Fort Ord, California. Andrew proposed to Therese over a twenty-cent beer asking, “Will you marry me next payday?” and presented her a borrowed engagement ring. They married in Monterey, California in 1951 prior to Andrew’s deployment to Korea. While serving in Korea, Andrew was assigned to a graves registration unit in Seoul. He achieved the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Korean Service Medal, with three bronze service stars, the UN Service Medal, and the Comm. Ribbon with MP-ND Service Medal. After receiving an honorable discharge from military service, Andrew and Therese relocated to Southern California where Andrew began a career with the Los Angeles County Probation Office as a deputy probation officer. He achieved the rank of Senior Supervising probation officer and retired in 1988 with over thirty years of service. After retirement, Andrew and Therese moved to beautiful Monterey, California in 1995.
There will be no memorial service or reception. In lieu of flowers and condolences, memorial donations may be made to a preferred charity.
