

Gordon Howard Kurowski, (MSG) Retired passed away suddenly on Friday, February 24, 2012 at the age of 68. He was born April 14, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. Gordon was born as one of the first fraternal triplets in the city of Detroit.
The family then relocated to Arizona, and following his high school graduation, he entered the military and began an exemplary career. Gordon met his true love, Brigitte, and they married on June 12, 1969. The couple recently celebrated 42 years of wedded love and bliss. Gordon traveled the world extensively with his military career and they resided until recently in Georgia.
Gordon graduated from Western International University in Phoenix, Arizona with a Bachelor of Science degree in General Studies.
Gordon served in the military with distinguished service for over 24 years. During his tenor, he served as a Communications Systems Equipment Chief, Program Analyst, and a Unit Level Communications Expert. Gordon proudly served in the Korean Conflict. During his years of dedicated service, he had numerous overseas assignments in USAREUR and stateside assignments. Gordon attended the Sergeant Major Academy in Fort Bliss, TX. He attended numerous schools and received many awards and decorations for his exemplary military performances.
Upon retirement from the military, Gordon was employed at JI Case in Wisconsin and Honeywell Industries in Arizona for over ten years as a technical expert in the field of communications. One of his awards in the private sector included the prestigious Top Wizard of Technological Excellence Award.
Gordon volunteered with assisting his daughter with Military Families during deployments by providing education and support for them. He actively volunteered in Scouting and sports with his grandson. Gordon enjoyed the preparation of many cuisines for his family and friends as master culinary expert. He was an avid traveler and sincerely enjoyed his family time.
Gordon’s stellar dedication to his military and private sector career, volunteer service to military Families, and his country pales in comparison to his complete dedication and love for his family. He loved his wife, daughter, grandson, son-in-law, and sisters with all his heart. Gordon was the epitome of love and devotion to his grandson, Eric. Gordon and his love, Brigitte, relocated many times to be near their grandson, Eric, one would not be seen without the other. Gordon was an amazing grandfather and was affectionately known by all as “Opa”.
Gordon is described by his family and friends as a loving husband, a devoted father and grandfather, and a sincere, genuine friend, by all who knew him. Gordon’s integrity, tremendous heart and giving personality are remembered by those who knew him, if long or short, they felt their lives were enriched by having him in it, if even for a moment.
Gordon believed in God, country and family above all. God took an angel on earth from us to join heavens ranks; what we have lost on earth God has gained in heaven.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Brigitte; his daughter, Linda; his grandson, Eric; his son-in-law, Steve; and his sisters, Susan, Nancy and Sharon; and all his friends who love him so dearly.
A military memorial service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella, CA on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 10:30 am.
