Joe E. Williamson passed away on December 9 in Redding, California at the age of 91. Born in Earlsboro, Oklahoma on February 18, 1923 to Walter E. and Esther B. Williamson, he was the fourth child of their eleven children. Joe was a US Army veteran of World War II, retiring in 1964 with the rank of Sergeant First Class/E-7 after twenty years of service. After his retirement, Joe and his family moved to Pacific Grove where he worked as an electrician for Village Electric for twenty years. He was also very active as a volunteer with S.C.R.A.M.P. at Laguna Seca Racetrack, working as a Director of Concessions for eighteen years. Joe is survived by his siblings, Lois Carder and Jack Williamson of Oklahoma; his wife of sixty-one years, Mabel W. Williamson of Redding and his daughters, Nancy (Monte) Roecker and Priscilla Williamson-Simpson. Joe has three grandchildren; Joey Williamson, Krystal (Gage) Cobb and Apryl (Michael) Friday and one great-grandchild, Hailey Cobb. Visitation will be tomorrow, Monday, December 15 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at The Paul Mortuary in Pacific Grove. Funeral services with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, December 16 at 1:00 PM at The Little Chapel by-the-Sea followed by burial at El Carmelo Cemetery, both in Pacific Grove.
