Manuel Machado

Manuel Lima Machado, also known as Manuel da Quinta, entered into rest in Monterey at the age of 97. He was born in Porto Judeu, Terceira, Açores, and was a long time resident of Pacific Grove and Monterey.

He is preceded in death by his wife Maria, his parents Manuel and Maria de Jesus Lima, his sisters Maria Rodrigues, Francisca Lima, Rita Deniz, Custodia Toste, Amelia Soares and brother, João Lima. He is survived by his sister Filomena de Lima of Elk Grove and many nieces and nephews throughout California, Canada and the Açores. Most recently he lived with his niece Nemesia and her husband Manuel Humberto Machado and family of Seaside. Manuel was a passionate and hardworking member and past President of FDES Portuguese Holy Ghost Celebration of Monterey and Lady of Fatima in Pacific Grove. He was also a member of PFSA Co.# 30 of Monterey and St Angela’s Merici Catholic Church of Pacific Grove.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to The Paul Mortuary. Services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 20 at 11:00am at St. Angela’s Church.
