

Patsy passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November 28, surrounded by loved ones. Born Blythe Patricia Bassett, Patsy grew up in Oklahoma and attended Duke University and Tulsa University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Preceded in death by her husband, James Allen Strand, they had the opportunity to experience many cultures around the world and lived in such places as; Calgary Alberta, Canada, Lagos Nigeria, and Kuwait, before retiring to the Monterey Peninsula in 1981.
Patsy lived a full and rich life with a family who loved her along with an abundance of dear friends. She spent many of her retired years supporting the Salvation Army and PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization), as well as being a talented and prolific artist and a published poet.
She is survived by her son, James Bassett Strand (Linda), her grandchildren Cooper and Katelyn Strand, step-grandchildren Cheri and Danielle Wilhite, and great-grand daughter Aurora. She is also survived by her sister Kay Willoughby (Don) and nieces Kathryn Hilton, Kristin Heggem and their families, and god-daughter, Julia St. Pierre. She is also survived by her sister Kay Willoughby (Don) and nieces Kathryn Hilton, Kristin Heggem and their families, brother in-law Dr. Roy Strand (Pat) and god-daughter, Julia St. Pierre.
Patsy’s legacy was the love of her family and her ability to make life-long friends.
She leaves behind, her life-partner, Mark Starr and devoted friend Linda Moorman.
