

Her parents were Ivy and Cecil O'Halloran.
She met Francis Edward Winn while he was serving in the U.S. Army in Australia. After their courtship, they married May 25, 1944.
As a war bride, she traveled from Brisbane, Australia to San Francisco, California on the troopship Lurline (Matson Line) arriving in June 1945. Rita became a proud American citizen on March 22, 1954.
Rita lived on the Monterey Peninsula where she and Francis (Bus) raised their four children. She was a homemaker and Bus was a Monterey fireman until his retirement.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband Francis Winn, parents Ivy and Cecil, and brother Cecil O'Halloran.
She will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her children Terry Winn (Rita), Sharon DeWitt (Grigg), Colleen Tobin (Ed), and Brian Winn (Jackie); grandchildren Kurt, Marnie, Julie, Kelly, and Emily; great grandchildren Jackson and Charlotte; cousin Doreen Roberts of Banyo, Australia, and her O'Halloran family in Australia.
Rita was passionate about her San Francisco Giants and loved being able to brag about 3 World Series rings. She loved gardening and passing along this passion to her family. She never missed an episode of Jeopardy and loved her dog, Annie.
