Born in Brooklyn, NY, Burt graduated from Alfred University, where he met his wife, Susan (née Kroll). He went on to earn a doctorate in organic chemistry and pursued an MBA, combining his scientific expertise with business insight to rise to executive leadership roles in multinational chemical corporations. His career took him around the world, but his devotion to family always came first.
Burt wanted his children to have an awareness of the larger world, bringing them on international travel and opening his home to a Swedish daughter, Solveig, a cherished part of their family. Burt’s friendships often lasted a lifetime, with relationships spanning 50, 60, and 70 years.
Known for his sharp intellect and wit, Burt loved music, travel, skiing, and golf. He was a devoted mentor and a consummate prankster, whose generosity and humor left a lasting mark on those around him. Above all, he cherished his partnership with Sue and the family they built together. He is survived by his wife, Sue, their children Tracy, Pam, and Todd, grandchildren Jack and Troy, and great-granddaughter Tzipporah and his sister Frances Rein Aronowitz.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd, at 12:30 p.m. at IJ Morris Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches. Donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
