
Edith Sharon age 91 of West Palm Beach, Florida and formerly from Ellenville, New York passed away on March 27, 2015. Edith was the daughter of Ida and Benjamin Botwinick. Edith grew up on the family farm in Greenfield Park. She graduated from Ellenville High School, and later immigrated to Israel in 1947. She fought in the Haganah for Israeli independence and established Kibbutz Ein Dor where she worked as a school teacher. The family returned to Ellenville in 1961 where she worked at Channel Master from 1965 until they closed their doors. Edith was active in the Democratic Party, AARC, Young Judeans, Cub Scouts, Hadassah and B’nai Brith. She moved with her husband to Florida in 1998 and was very involved in her community of West Palm Beach Century Village in the chorus, Yiddish Vinkle, Humor Club, and served as president of the Yiddish Culture Club. She studied Italian and Tai Chi while also teaching Hebrew in her later years. Edith is survived by children Bella Krom, Linda and Don Berger and Ben Sharon, Grandmother to Rebecca Hefner, David Sanchez, Daniel Sanchez, Jenna Braunstein and Mara Berger, seven great grandchildren, sister Yevette Nissenbaum and brother Henry Botwinick. Beloved aunt, great aunt, and great, great, aunt. Predeceased by husband Joseph Sharon, sister Sarah Greenberg, and brother Joe Botwinick. Her positive attitude, sense of humor, generosity, and kindness to all she encountered will be greatly missed. Services will be at 12:00 noon Monday March 30th at Anshe Tzaydik 186 Canal St. Ellenville, NY 12428.
