

Natalie Ann LeVine (“Mitzi”), 92, of Lantana, Florida passed away on June 29, 2024. She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on August 13, 1931. A graduate of Portsmouth High School, she was elected Vice President of her class in her freshman year. Mitzi attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority. She was crowned Atlas’ “Campus Queen” following a tri-state search and receiving over 3,000 votes.
Mitzi married Stanley LeVine (“Butch”) in January 1954, and they were married for 62 years. The newlyweds built a life together in Cincinnati filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. They had three children: Jill, Michael (“Mickey”), and Richard (“Rick”). The family participated in various sporting activities. Approximately forty years later, they relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida and made a new home in River Bridge. Family, friendships, and community were the compass for Mitzi’s meaningful life.
Mitzi unconditionally loved her children, grandchildren, and recently born great-grandchild. Nothing made her happier than spending quality time with her family or ringing them on the phone/videochat.
For many years, she prepared holiday meals for a large group of family and friends. Mitzi was an exceptional cook mastering Jewish recipes and made extra batches of her delicious vegetable soup for others. She was a proud Life Member of Hadassah.
Mitzi and Butch were inseparable. They formed deep connections with their Bike Club including weekly bike rides and brunch. Mitzi lived an active lifestyle playing golf, tennis, kayaking, and snorkeling. An avid sports fan, she also volunteered at golf and tennis tournaments. Mitzi enjoyed being on the water and going to the beach. When she wasn’t outdoors, she played Canasta, Mahjong, and Dominoes.
Mitzi devoted her life to giving back to her community. For decades, she was a Docent at the Cincinnati and Palm Beach Zoos leading educational talks, tours, and annual events. Mitzi loved all animals with a particular fondness for gorillas. She contributed thousands of hours of service and completed specialized training for the Zoos. Mitzi further volunteered at The School District of Palm Beach County Public Schools for elementary students. She took on a supervisor role at the Palm Beach County Board of Elections.
Mitzi cherished the arts and was a Docent for years at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts with her husband. She was enamored with musicals and theater visiting a variety of venues throughout Florida.
Later in life, Mitzi continued to play weekly card games, Bingo, Blackjack, and attended exercise class. She developed new friendships and looked after other residents. Mitzi was always smiling and effortlessly put together her ensemble filled with bright colors and prints. She was known to dance and sing along with entertainment her entire life.
Mitzi leaves behind a legacy of love and a zest for life, survived by her loving children, Michael LeVine (“Mickey”) and Richard LeVine (“Rick”); her treasured grandchildren, Sarah Schottenstein, Ashley Schottenstein, and Abby Schottenstein; and her precious great-grandchild, Maxwell Schottenstein (son of Ashley). She is also survived by many extended family and friends. She will forever be missed.
