William “Bill” Foor, age 87, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, passed away surrounded by family on December 13, 2015. Bill was born on February 4, 1928 in Jacksonville, Florida, to parents Sam Foor and Mollie Kroser. After graduating high school in 1946, Bill served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948; and following his discharge from the Navy, he attended the University of Florida, graduating in 1952. He was a member of the Tau Alpha chapter of the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. He moved to Miami in 1957, where he met his beloved wife Carole. They were married in 1964, and were inseparable for all 51 wonderful years. Bill did not have much as a kid, growing up during the Depression. But he loved people, and that is how he found his calling. He became a stock broker, and eventually a Senior Vice President of Merrill Lynch in the Coral Gables office. He was an exceptionally skilled broker and he was repeatedly honored for his work as a member of the Chairman’s Club and the Circle of Excellence. Bill treated all of his clients like family, and kept in touch with many of them, even in retirement. He loved his work, and retired in 2004, at the young age of 76.
Bill was special in so many ways. He was quick with a laugh and a hug for everyone. From his earliest childhood friends who were friends for life, to people he met on the street in 2015, he wanted to talk to and spend time with them all. Bill loved his Florida Gators, but he also rooted for the University of Miami, because there was always room for more.
More than anything, Bill loved his family unconditionally. He would do absolutely anything for Carole, his daughter Lisa Stelzer and her husband Bob, his son Steven, his son Jeffery and his wife Melissa, grandson David Haas and his wife Kimberly, grandsons Max and Zachary, and great-granddaughters Presley and Evelyn. He is survived by all of them, and their families. Bill also adopted as his own Carole’s loving sister, brothers and sisters-in-law. Bill literally lived his life to make sure that his entire family was safe and happy. He loved every one of them, and every one of them loved him. To say that he will be missed is the greatest understatement of all.
Services will be held at noon on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at Star of David Cemetery of the Palm Beaches, 9321 Memorial Park Rd., West Palm Beach, FL 33412.
