Proverbs 31 describes a virtuous woman, an excellent wife and devoted, godly mother. This describes Adelaida perfectly. She was industrious, hardworking, walked in wisdom and led her children to know God. All who knew her, would agree that she feared the Lord and desired for her life to bring Him glory.
Adelaida was a member of Central Baptist Church of Pasadena for more than 2 decades, where she received the incredible honor, “Mother of the Year, 1985.” If you attended this church on a Sunday morning, you would find her, dressed perfectly, sitting right in the center of the choir, while singing with her lovely alto voice. She adored hymns and gospel music. She kept a beautifully clean home and would often be found dusting or sweeping while humming to her favorite songs. After moving to Deer Park, the Turners changed their church membership to First Baptist of Pasadena, where she was a member until her faith became sight and she was with Jesus, face to face.
On holidays, she cooked the most incredible feasts and set the finest table. Some of the family favorites were, homemade tacos, Mexican rice, Thanksgiving dressing, potato salad and the absolute best turkey gravy ever made!
