William Jesse Moore was born on April 23, 1933 in Oakwood, Texas to James Alfred and Artie Mae Moore. He went with his Lord on June 16, 2014, and is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Moore, his parents Alfred and Artie Moore, his sister Alice Moore Denton, and his brothers Jerry Moore, Johnny Moore and Larry Moore. He is survived by his children, Cindy Moore, Leslie Hairston and Tim Hairston, his grandchildren Megan and Dennis Jannise and Hannah Hairston, his great grandchildren Cullen Jannise, Jake Jannise, Ellie Jannise and Charlotte Jannise, and his siblings Buck and Barbara Jean Moore, Linda Moore, Pat and Larry Thompson, Alvin and Connie Moore, and Terri and Mike Stonestreet.
Bill worked for 43 years at Texas Commerce Bank, starting as an errand boy and working his way up to Executive Vice President and running several locations. After retiring, he spent over 10 years as a volunteer at Turner Elementary in Pasadena, Texas.
Bill was an amazing father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend. He loved going to the deer lease and fishing, but had been known to never pick up a rifle or pole the entire trip; he spent more time telling stories and laughing with friends and family.
One of his favorite things to do was attend the Moore Family Reunion in Smithville, Texas. This April he attended the 60th reunion. He missed the first as he was serving overseas in Korea. He also loved his game days and fish fries started by Russell and Donna. He and Margaret loved to dance and we were blessed to have a family of musicians.
If you knew Bill, you knew he loved his family. He told everyone who would listen stories about his wife, children, grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. He was a proud Pawpaw, and he made sure everyone knew how exactly how proud of a Pawpaw.
