Denise Evangelin Flores

Denise was born to the loving union of Ramesh and Anita Boodhai on September 21st, 1976 in Pasadena, Texas. God called his daughter Denise to his heavenly kingdom on July 30th, 2024. Denise is preceded in death by her father Ramesh Boodhai, her grandparents Percy and Rebecca Jhingree, her aunt Hermena and uncle Norman Jetty.

She had a loving and fiery spirit with a great sense of humor, as she was always eager to laugh with family and friends. She had an effortless beauty both inside and out and lit up any room she entered. She was also a great lover of music and attended many live concerts (the louder the better) and danced her heart out during family gatherings to traditional Indian rhythms. She absolutely loved horror films, comedies, and was a fan of forensic science and psychology. She was fascinated with the criminal mind. She also wanted to spread the word of God to her loved ones and spoke often of her love of Christ.

Early on, She was very focused on her career, as she pursued ambitious goals in criminal justice. She applied herself fully in her pursuit and was hired as a correctional officer for the state of Texas. Her grit, focus and ambition led her to receiving two promotions in just under a year leaving other tenured co workers in her wake.

Despite her fast ascension in her career, God had other plans for her. She suffered a devastating brain aneurysm in the year 2011 and fought hard for several weeks, eventually making it back to her loving family. While she continued to heal, she gave birth to her 3rd child, Jonathan Michael Flores, who, perhaps not coincidentally, shares his birthdate of August 15th with his recently deceased grandfather Anthony James Flores. She continued her healing process for many years, never forsaking her love of God and her family.

Denise was a beautiful soul, and is survived by her 3 loving children, Jeremy, Joshua and Jonathan; her Mother, Anita Boodhai and Step-Dad Mark Julius Renza; her big brother Kenny Boodhai; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

A visitation for Denise will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505. A funeral service will occur Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Grand View Funeral Home.
