Uncle Dewey taught me about growing vegetables. He always had the best tomatoes and was quick to share his secrets. And there was nothing better when we needed a snack than to sneak in his backyard to get a pear off his tree. Uncle Dewey treated me like one of his grandchildren even though I was only his great-niece. He was a gentle soul and will be greatly missed. Please tell Mamaw, Nana, Papaw, Maxie, Becky and Aunt Gail we miss them.

He was my hero, my mentor and best of all my Father.....

Dewey was a fine man: friendly, hardworking, willing to help anyone with anything that needed fixing, whether it was an air conditioner, a refrigerator, a vehicle or assistance with a home repair or homework. He was respected by all who knew him, and wanted everyone to have what they needed. He would find used refrigerators, repair them, clean them, and offer them for a few dollars to those who needed a fridge. He would lend you any tool he had, and he had them all, and if he could lend a hand, he offered that, too. 
Uncle Dewey could find common ground with anyone, and his friendly nature and sincere questions, made conversations easy. You could depend on him to welcome the stranger to the event, group or party, and that stranger would leave as a friend. He had a way of making you feel special, like you were the smartest and most interesting person in the room.
He is missed already. 
Our hearts go out to Aunt Dene, Gary, Cyndee', Don, Jennie, Greg, Robin, Cheryl, Kai, Austin, Krystal, Kayla, JR, Haley, Brady, Austin and Tyler, during this time of deep loss. May God bless and comfort you, and may, with time, replace your sorrow with sweet memories. 
Glenn and I can say that our lives were better for knowing  him, and being among his extended family. 
 Oh, one more thing: not about to miss our wedding, he came straight from work, wearing his Sears repairman's uniform, and laughed about it for forty years!

Always loved talking to Uncle Dewey, he always seemed like a walking encyclopedia.If you needed to know something just ask him because he loved sharing what he knew or the last book he read. Will miss him.

Dewey was my favorite uncle.He was always around to help all of our family. He kept our ac units running, our cars going, refrigerators etc. He was the kindest man you would ever want to meet.He was very charitable and when he had his own refrigeration co. He wouldn't even charge some of the people because he knew they didn't have the money to pay. He was funny and always liked a good joke. He was my hero. Brenda
