Donna Hanks Hammersky

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, J. Richard and Dorothy Hanks of Crowley, LA, and her brothers, Richard “Rick” Hanks Jr. of Crowley, LA, and Mark Hanks of Port Arthur, TX. She is survived by her husband, David Hammersky, and her three children: Mark Schrock and his wife Tabitha of Baytown, TX; Jenna Williams and her husband Eric of Pasadena, TX; and Matthew Hammersky and his wife Sydney of Clear Lake, TX. She was also a proud and devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren—Amber Schrock, MaryAshley Schrock, Korrie Williams, Kylee Whitehead, Michael Hammersky, and Madison Schrock—each of whom she adored deeply.

Donna was an active member of Risen Nation in Pasadena, TX, where she was known affectionately as “Donda” throughout the Children’s Ministry. She loved every child who came through her classroom as if they were her own. Her love knew no limits—if you knew Donna, you were part of her family. Every meal with her began with a blessing, and more often than not ended with something chocolate. Donna had a generous heart for spreading God’s love, and she faithfully supported missionaries throughout her life.

Professionally, Donna dedicated much of her career to billing and credentialing at Southeast Dermatology in Pasadena, TX. She took great pride in her work and was passionate about ensuring her beloved doctors were paid accurately and fully under each contract. Her SE Derm coworkers and physicians were like family to her, too. Donna never met a stranger—no matter where she went, people felt welcomed, seen, and loved.

Donna’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched with her kindness, her faith, and her unwavering love. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Heavenly Father, reunited with those who went before her. Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely will continue to guide and comfort all who knew her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped care for Donna over these past few weeks, with special thanks to Ruth Golden for her exceptional kindness and support.

A visitation will be held at Risen Nation, located at 2121 Genoa Red Bluff Road, Pasadena, Texas, 77505, on February 6, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will take place at Risen Nation on February 7, 2026, starting at 11:30 am.
