

Douglas was born on February 19, 1942 in Baytown, Texas to Sidney Johnston Pillow and Eliza Roberta Stokes. He resided in Baytown until 1960, whereupon graduating from Robert E. Lee High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After a deployment in South Korea, he finished his enlistment in the Old Guard at Fort Myers in Arlington, Virginia. While stationed in Virginia, Douglas married the love of his life, Carolyn. Upon returning to Texas, Douglas attended Lamar Tech, graduating in 1968 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Spending the first part of his career as a CPA in Corporate Finance, Douglas transitioned into Oil and Gas drilling in the early 1980’s. After retiring in 2013 as a Vice President with Patterson – UTI, Douglas spent his retirement years traveling to visit his family, golfing and following the Houston Astros.
Douglas was married to Carolyn Pillow for 56 years. He resided in Deer Park, Texas since 1970 and was a member of South Main Baptist Church. Douglas was most proud of his marriage, his military service and his children and grandchildren.
Douglas was preceded in death by his brothers, Sidney Pillow, Edward Pillow, and William Pillow. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Pillow; sons, David W. Pillow and wife Amy of Lahaina, Hawaii, and James D. Pillow of Richmond Texas; daughter, Christa L. Park and husband Brodon of Foley, Alabama; and his seven grandchildren, Joseph Park, Joshua Park, Jordan Park, Jayce Park, Jonathan Park, Zayne Pillow, and Zyra Gonzalez.
The family will receive friends and family members for visitation on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 1:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, Texas. The Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00pm, with graveside immediately after at Grand View Memorial Park.
