Gloria Consuelo Cruz

On February 3, 2026, Gloria Consuelo Cruz, lovingly known as “Connie”, left this world to be with the Lord. She was 81 years old. Gloria passed peacefully in her home, holding her son Hector’s hand. Gloria was born on May 31, 1944, in Guatemala City and raised by her loving mother, Maria Rosales.

As a young woman, Gloria left her beautiful country and bravely set off to the United States. Her journey began in Los Angeles, California, in 1970. She eventually moved to New York, where Gloria and her husband, Catalino Cruz married. They moved to Pasadena, Texas, where they raised their family and were happily married for 53 years.

Gloria effortlessly dedicated her life to raising her family, loving her husband, and teaching them the importance of having a relationship with Jesus Christ. Gloria’s children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She encouraged them with her words of wisdom; she warmed their hearts with her compassion. Gloria was always her happiest with her family. Her favorite thing to do was family dinners. She loved to share her culture with us, including our favorite Guatemalan dishes. She always talked about her family in Guatemala, especially her mother. She filled our lives with stories of her past. She encouraged us to embrace who we are, how to love one another, and how to live fearlessly.

Gloria was always kind, compassionate, forgiving, and graceful. She lived a peaceful life and taught us many valuable lessons. She brought so much joy to our family and always brightened our homes with love.

Gloria Consuelo Cruz is survived by her loving husband, Catalino Cruz by her children, Hector Alexander Cruz (Crystal), Ingrid Webb (Jody), Leslie Gallego (Robert), Miriam Salazar Rosales, and Alex Salazar; her grandchildren Evan Chavez, Seth Webb, Alexander Cruz, Christian Cruz, Sebastian Cruz, Olivia Gallego, Luna Gallego, Mischelle Carbajal, Charlene Carbajal, Calvin Carbajal, Alex Salazar, Pamela Salazar, Nicol Salazar; her siblings Imelda Rosales, Clara Luz Rosales, Marco Antonio Rosales; Gloria also leaves behind greatgrandchildren.

El 3 de febrero de 2026, Gloria Consuelo Cruz, cariñosamente conocida como “Connie”, dejó este mundo para estar con el Señor. Tenía 81 años. Gloria partió en paz en su hogar, sosteniendo la mano de su hijo Héctor. Gloria nació el 31 de mayo de 1944 en Ciudad de Guatemala y fue criada por su amorosa madre, María Rosales.

Siendo una joven, Gloria dejó su hermoso país y valientemente emprendió su camino hacia los Estados Unidos. Su viaje comenzó en Los Ángeles, California, en 1970. Más adelante se mudó a Nueva York, donde Gloria y su esposo, Catalino Cruz, se casaron. Posteriormente se establecieron en Pasadena, Texas, donde criaron a su familia y estuvieron felizmente casados durante 53 años.

Gloria dedicó su vida con entrega y amor a criar a su familia, amar a su esposo y enseñarles la importancia de tener una relación con Jesucristo. Sus hijos y nietos lo eran todo para ella. Los alentaba con sus palabras llenas de sabiduría y les reconfortaba el corazón con su compasión.

Gloria siempre era más feliz cuando estaba con su familia. Su actividad favorita eran las cenas familiares. Le encantaba compartir su cultura con nosotros, incluyendo nuestros platillos guatemaltecos favoritos. Siempre hablaba de su familia en Guatemala, especialmente de su madre. Llenó nuestras vidas con historias de su pasado. Nos animó a aceptar quiénes somos, a amarnos unos a otros y a vivir sin miedo.

Gloria fue siempre bondadosa, compasiva, perdonadora y llena de gracia. Vivió una vida en paz y nos enseñó muchas lecciones valiosas. Trajo tanta alegría a nuestra familia y siempre iluminó nuestros hogares con amor.

A Gloria Consuelo Cruz le sobreviven su amado esposo, Catalino Cruz; sus hijos Héctor Alexander Cruz (Crystal), Ingrid Webb (Jody), Leslie Gallego (Robert), Miriam Salazar Rosales y Alex Salazar; sus nietos Evan Chavez, Seth Webb, Alexander Cruz, Christian Cruz, Sebastian Cruz, Olivia Gallego, Luna Gallego, Mischelle Carbajal, Charlene Carbajal, Calvin Carbajal, Alex Salazar, Pamela Salazar y Nicol Salazar; sus hermanos Imelda Rosales, Clara Luz Rosales y Marco Antonio Rosales. Gloria también deja a sus bisnietos.
