Jacqueline "Jackie Rose" Long

Jacqueline “Jackie Rose” Long, age 88, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born on March 15, 1932 in Jennings, Indiana to Forest and Polly Ann Clarkson. She was an amazing artist and painted countless landscapes and portraits on canvas. She loved working at Adventures In Birds, stocking the shelves with new toys and snacks for the birds and greeting customers as they entered the store. She loved reading books and working puzzles with her grandchildren. Her cats will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her son Wayne Long & wife Cindy of Tucson, Arizona, daughter Brenda Hollis & husband George of Tucson, Arizona and daughter Jean Jordan-Hughes & husband David of Houston, Texas; grandchildren John Nowak and husband Chris, Valerie Baggett and husband Gary, Celeste Raymond and husband Rob, Jennifer Wolf, Tim Marksberry, and Dean Hughes; sister Joanna Reynolds; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other special family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Forest Clarkson and Polly Ann Murray, husband Ronald Long, and brother Zenas Clarkson.

Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home and Memorial Park on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 1:00pm for family and 2:00pm for friends. Graveside service will be held immediately after.

We would like to personally thank Terri Smith, her adopted daughter, for being by her side during doctor and hospital visits and the hospice caretaker Pat, for her tender loving care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Spring Branch Animal & Bird Sanctuary (SBABS).

I retired several years ago had the opportunity to do some traveling and went and visited in Jackie and Genie for vacation she put me to work right away had me paint the bird shop I didn't mind it made her happy we did puzzles watch Gunsmoke and talk about the good old days. She loved my biscuits and gravy I could always talk to her about anything she was always full of surprises. I remember growing up in the big house Brenda and Jeannie would always try to get me in trouble but Aunt Jackie knew better She was like a second mother I'm going to miss you Aunt Jackie enjoy your Eternal vacation your's always, Love Randy Ray!
