All of us at Faith Presbyterian Church sure do miss him❣️

I will always miss my favorite brother-in-law. Here are some small things you might not remember; The Fiat he bought in Tulsa. He looked like a grasshopper driving it. Remember; The big dog "who hit him"- tremendous damage to the car door, dog jumped up, shook his head and ran off. He joked about that for years. Remember; The sunburns we would get going to air shows with him. He loved to pilot "small" plans, but hated to fly commercial. Remember; How he would hold out his arms so we could stand under them, I think he liked being tall. Remember; All of us will always love and keep his memory close.

Jim was a top-notch husband, father, outdoorsman and musician, however it was as a musician that he touched so many lives.Thankfully, he was led to Faith Presbyterian and there influenced members of every age. He would sit and sing and play his guitar with the young ones, he and Susie were sponsors of the teenagers activities and he was in the choir and eventually was"the choir". He was generous in sharing his God given talent that was such a blessing to all of us. It left a smile on our face and a song in our heart. Jim's special music was always a sermon set to music. We are grateful that he gave us a final gift - a CD of his most beautiful hymns that always keeps him close.  I must mention that through the years, Jim, endured many health challenges, but his discipline and determination always brought him back to us and served as inspiration as to what is possible under difficult circumstances.  It will never be the same, but Jim's image and spirit will always be present in his corner of our little church.

Jim meant so much to our family over the years.  We certainly enjoyed his singing and will always treasure his CD. Our grand daughter, Brianna,adored him.She interviewed him for an assignment for which she got an "A". and she always asked about him.  She was saddened by the news of his passing.  We shall surely miss him.  We pray that God will give you all the  strength to carry on as you cherish so many precious     memories.

Susie, Evelyn, Jimmy, & George - I would like to say thank you for giving me the honor of speaking about Jim at his service, but I was sorry to have to cut it short.  So many stories ran through my brain . . . I could have talked for days it seemed. 

Not many have the good fortune to have such a kind, caring friend their entire life, but thankful I am to have been blessed not just with Jim's presence, but the family's as well.  More than just a 'church friend,' I feel like I've been more like 'family' and for that I thank God.  

May the pain of living without him fade, but your memories of time spent together never leave you.  We have all been so very blessed. 

My love to each of you now and always as we honor him by remembering him through his songs, jokes, laughter and kind heart.

Sept. 23, 2011.  To: Susie, Jimmy, George, Evelyn.  Ted and I have always felt that we spent some of the happiest years of our lives as a part of the Faith Church Family, and Jim was a very important part of those years.  We loved him for the person that he was as well as the for the way his special music added to our Sunday mornings.  I especially loved the song he sang about "...His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." (Don't remember the name of the song, but I love to hum the few lines of it that I know and I always think of Jim when I do.)
So sorry we were unable to be at the Memorial Service but I'm sure our kids told you that Ted spent that week in St. Luke's Hospital battling a case of near-pneumonia and a heart-related complication.  I wonder if Jim even realized how many people he reached through his music.  I'm sure he is still making his music in Heaven.  May God Bless you and yours.  Marilyn & Ted Allen, Cypress, Tx.

Hearing Jim sing on Sundays was always a treat.  There is a void now and we all feel it.  He will be thought of often and missed.  A warm and gentle voice from a warm and gentle man.  We were fortunate to have known him.

Susie,  Jim's passing is certainly a great loss for all who knew him.  He will always be remembered by us for his unique sense of humor, his unceasing optimism and his genuine love for his fellow man.  He was truly a friend to all.  - The Caldwells - James, Connie, Jamie, Ian & Aaron.

I was very blessed to have Mr. Coward as a presence in my life when I was young.  I still remember him singing in the choir in church and his laughter.  He was a gentle man and always had good things to say about other people.  He made a great impression in my life and I'm sure many of the other youth in the church felt the same way.  He will be sorely missed and always remembered.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I know how much Jim will be missed. He was lots of fun to be around. You have my sympathy.

To the Coward family from everyone on Berry Creek. We are saddened to hear about the loss of your dad. Our prayers are with all of the family during this time. The Henderson, Orsak and Drummond Families.

Susie and Family,

So sorry to hear of your loved ones passing. Jim will be missed but remembered by all. He will be in our thoughts and you and your family will be in our hearts and prayers.

Susie and Family,
I had the pleasure of working with Jim for a number of years.  I remember his  classical guitar and he was one of the first to be concerned about fuel economy when he purchase the three wheeled vehicle.  Don't think it worked out quite like he expected it would. My deepest sympathy to all.  Don Dammann

Sorry to hear of Jim's losing his battle with cancer.  My condolences to his extended family.  I worked daily with Jim @ mopac in Houstom 1977 - 1980 and really enjoyed his special sense of humor during a difficult time.  He was always up beat and a joy!

The world will miss a kind and gentle man who bless us with his family and friendship. Peace be with you.

aunt Susie, George, Jimmie, and the rest of the Coward Family, My most sincere and heartfelt condolences. Some of my fondest memories from childhood are from the times when the Cowards would come to Gramma's. And even in the later years, Uncle Jim was an awesome man... I will never forget his voice when he sang and spoke and that little giggle that he would make right before he would bust out in a big belly laugh that would have us all rolling with laughter... He blessed us all, Heaven is a happy place with him there.
