

Jimmie Roger Bowlin, affectionately known as Jim, passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 90. A resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Jim was born in Houston, Texas, on April 15, 1935, to Ann and Jim Bowlin. He shared a remarkable 66-year marriage with his beloved wife, Dana Quaidy.
Jim led a diverse and fulfilling career, contributing as a farmer, teacher, cable splicer, lab technician, truck driver, and plant operator. He also served his country as an Army Veteran. A dedicated member of the Masons, Jim had a deep passion for airplanes and farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Jim Bowlin, his brother Robert Wade Bowlin, his stepfather L.V. Snipes, and his daughter-in-law Anita Bowlin.
Jim is survived by his wife Dana, his sons Kenneth and Jim Mark Bowlin, and daughter-in-law Sherry Bowlin. He leaves behind his sister Dorothy Bowlin Bishop and her children Randy, David, and Cindy; sister-in-law Bobbie Ramsey and her sons John and Jason Ramsey, along with their spouses Dewey Donahue and Amy Ramsey, respectively. He is also survived by his great-niece Ally Ramsey and Dylan Ramsey. His grandchildren, Amber Kost and her husband Dustin, and Jenny Humphrey and her husband Phil, as well as his great-grandchildren, Olivia Kost and Tanner, Emma, Cameron, and Keegan Humphrey, will carry on his legacy. Jim is remembered by more extended family than can be listed here.
Visitation will be held at Grand View Funeral Home, located at 8501 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505, on April 29, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with a committal service at Grand View Funeral Home & Memorial Park/Bethany Cemetery from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
