Joan Ilean Hartman, 87 of La Porte, Texas passed away peacefully on August 28, 2015. She was born on June 29, 1928 in Houston, Texas. She married her high-school sweetheart, Norman Hartman on February 7, 1947. Joan was an active volunteer at St. Vincent DePaul thrift shop, involved in Eucharistic ministries at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary Veterans of Foreign War. She enjoyed camping, square dancing, quilting, and family game nights. Her parents, Fred and Vivian Parkin, and her sister, Patty Jean Sanders, precede her in death. She is survived in death by her husband, Norman Hartman, sons: Shiloh Hartman, John Hartman and spouse Rebecca Hartman, Grandchildren: Joshua Hartman, Sarah M. Hartman, Angela Nolen, Jon Hartman and spouse Sarah A. Hartman, and Great Grandchildren: Blisse, Morgan, Dillan, and Avery Hartman.
