Juanita B. Freeman, 94, of Houston, TX, passed away June 5, 2023. She was born in Pelahatchie, Mississippi on January 12, 1929 to Effie O. and Chester E. Beeman. She was married to Thomas V. Freeman for 72 years.
On Monday, June 5th, 2023 at 5:58pm, Juanita B. Freeman was transfigured. She is once again able to walk & run with the joy & love of life that she had always exhibited until vascular dementia slowly stole her away from herself & us. Her memory has been restored. Pain from arthritis and spinal stenosis are part of her past but not her future. She is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am sure He met her with all loved ones that preceded her, especially Eddie, her Deborah, and her parents. She is again unconditionally loving, unselfishly giving of herself, unafraid, undaunted by challenges. Her smile can once again light up a room. Her eyes are twinkling with love and probably mischief, a secret only she knows. Her arms once again have strength. The same strength she used to hold you with love and happiness sharing joy, or with love and compassion sharing sorrow, but always, always with love.
Juanita was a seamstress for Burnley Shirt Factory and Mey Webb Hosiery Mill in Meridian, MS. She worked as a secretary/receptionist for Maintenance Service and San Jacinto Memorial Park. She worked where electric motor formed coils were made and also at Maintenance Service. She was a child caregiver for many children. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church on Uvalde Road.
She had a passion for sewing, cooking, camping, walking in the woods & on the beach, painting, scuba diving, snow skiing, travel, collecting rocks, working in her garden, being a wife, mom, grandmama, daughter, sister, and aunt.
She was preceded in death by her first daughter, Deborah June, her only son, "Eddie" Tom E., parents, sisters Francis Strong and Chesterene George, brother T. W. Beeman. Her sister, Bettye Ruth Dearman followed her on 6/7/2023.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas V., daughter, Marcia F. Hargrave & husband Alex E.
Hargrave, daughter-in-law Sherry L. Freeman & husband George Mynarcik, grandchildren Hannah O. Richards and husband Brandon C. Richards, Deborah E. Hargrave, and Marcus A. Hargrave, great grandchildren Jamie Ann Hargrave and Beau Oliver Richards, her brothers Dr.
Carl Beeman and wife Ruth, and Robert Beeman, her sister-in-law Naomi Killion and husband Andy, many nieces, nephews, & cousins, and unofficially adopted family Glenn & Pam Ewton & their 3 children, Megan Carranza, Matthew & Nicholas Ewton.
Juanita is a testimony of 1 Peter 5:10, And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. (NIV) She suffered for a time, but now God has made her strong again. She will share in Christ's glory forever. She is again whole and completely herself. She is the rose beyond the wall.
"The Rose Still Grows Beyond The Wall"
Near a shady wall a rose once grew,
Budded and blossomed in God's free light,
Watered and fed by morning dew,
Shedding its sweetness day and night.
As it grew and blossomed fair and tall,
Slowly rising to loftier height,
It came to a crevice in the wall,
Through which there shone a beam of light.
Onward it crept with added strength,
With never a thought of fear or pride,
It followed the light through the crevice's length,
And unfolded itself on the other side.
The light, the dew, the broadening view
Were found the same as they were before;
And it lost itself in beauties new,
Breathing it's fragrance more and more.
Shall claim of death cause us to grieve,
And make our courage faint or fail.
Nay! Let us faith and hope receive
The rose still grows beyond the wall.
Scattering fragrance far and wide,
Just as it did in days of yore,
Just as it did on the other side,
Just as it will forever-more.
