Luis, you will be missed so much by family and friends! You have had such an impact on so many individuals, through meaningful conversations and needed coaching to help each of us.

Mr. Leal was a wonderful role model, who will be cherished and missed dearly. My heart hurts for your family, but I know your legacy will continue to live thru them.  Mr. Leal was an inspiration to many and a great loss to all that knew him. Praying for peace and comfort for your family.

My condolences to the Leal family. Luis will be missed and often thought of in fond memories. He was a great neighbor for many years and he was always ready to share how his family was doing. It was obvious he was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. I will miss our little talks.

My Papa was a Dad, Husband, Cousin, Nephew, Uncle, Son, Hero, Warrior, Vietnam veteran, and most of all a friend. He didn’t care what you looked like or how you talked. He cared for everyone “large or small”. He would always lighten the room that he was in. I know that you are gone, but you are still apart of everyone and everything that we do. You are watching  us to make sure that we are okay. Your large legacy will continue to live on. I couldn’t have asked for a better papa then you. Thank you for everything that you have taught me. I love you with all my heart

Have known Luis for many many years he was a great friend. He was a hard working man and a family man. He will be dearly missed. We love you Luis.

Roses are red, violets are blue, what a blessing it was to have you. To have you in my life, to have you as my grandpa, to have you as my best friend, to have you as a wonderful father to my mom, to have you as a role model, to have you when times were tough and fun, to have you as someone who always believed that I would do good and big things in life, to have you as a husband to my amazing grandma, to have you as someone who was always putting others before you, to have you as a mentor, to have you as a partner to play hide and go seek, to have you as a sleep over buddy and watch the same movie every time I spent the night at your house “Yogi Bear” and “The Smurfs” we saw those movies a couple dozen times, to have you as a fishing partner, to have you as an amazing war hero and veteran, to have you as a basketball buddy to play horse with, to have you as a baseball and football buddy to watch the Texans and Astros with, to have you as someone who has been in my life since I was born, to have you as someone to see me grow up. We’ve made so many memories together, some big, and some small, but all of these moments add up to make me feel like the most special boy in the world because I was able to have an amazing man in my life like you to look up to, I had an amazing man in my life to teach me life lessons. You taught me how to love, be kind and caring, and take care of people. You taught me to be grateful for all of my accomplishments and memories. But I am a lucky boy because I got all of my greatness from you. I already see you doing great things in heaven. A lot of people have told me over the years that I’m going to be just like you and keep your legacy going. Just knowing that people say this about me really means the world to me because you are an amazing man. I know that you’re doing amazing things in heaven right now. Your legacy will always be remembered by many. I will never forget you or our many memories. You were a blessing. I’ll love you forever papa.

What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. Thank you Dad for being an amazing father and making me a part of your legacy. You will forever live on in my heart.


Your life was blessing, your memory a treasure . You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

My Tio... He was a good man who lived a good life. Dedicated to his family and his career. A Vietnam Veteran. In my school years I wrote a few papers on him; whenever the topic was to be about a person who you admired or thought of as a hero, he was the person I chose. He always made sure that all my questions were answered. He will be greatly missed.

Even though your life's journey has reached the end, you are not forgotten. The pain is now gone, and you can be at peace. We shared many work adventures over the years as I was always very fortunate to be able to work with you. You were always the most caring and professional manager, and  genuinely  valued everyone and did everything in your power to insure their safety and well being. You will be missed my friend.

I remember Luis from our days at Brown and Root. He always had a smile on his face. Great Safety Professional. He did make a difference. 

Luis taught me a lot when we worked together at Exxon in Baytown TX back back in the 90`s. Luis always asked about how my wife Elizabeth was  doing, her  name is Virginia,  we had a lot of laughs about that. For some reason he thought her name was Elizabeth. I will miss you old friend, I  know you are up there fishing with God now, you can't ask for a better fishing partner than that.

My husband, John is how I met Luis.. John Leggett worked with him many years.  John respected and spoke highly of  Luis.  For whatever reason Luis could never remember my name being Virginia - I was always Elizabeth (always) even when he and John spoke on the phone and I was no where around - he would ask how Elizabeth was… LOL... so I guess I looked like an Elizabeth to him...  and  that was alright I enjoyed seeing and talking with him on the rare occasions I was fortunate enough to see him. 
Although I didn't know Luis as well as some of  you I was very sorry to hear of his passing, but know that he apparently touched many lives without even knowing it (mine being 1 of them)... I will always remember him !  

I always considered Luis a mentor as well as a true friend as he helped guide me in my career with Brown and Root.  Always true to his beliefs and a man of integrity.  He will be greatly missed.  My prayers for comfort go out to his family.

Luis and I worked together for many years and became good friends. Luis was an honorable, dedicated person that  always looked out for the welfare of others. I feel honored that I was part of his "extended" family and  will sorely miss him. I pray for comfort and peace for the Leal family during  this difficult time.
